What ya got cookin? The three women, Debie Child, who has been cooking for the FFA camp for the past three years, Therese Cox who has also been cooking for the FFA camp for the past three years, and Janet Wolf, who has only been cooking with the camp for the past week, have a great time at FFA camp, sometimes more fun than the campers. Their most exciting experience this year at camp is their encounter with a black bear. Janet stood speechless at the window while Debie yelled at it and threw rocks, all the while Therese yelled at Debie to not run outside and chase after it. Cooking our meals this year has been more difficult than the years in the past, due to the lack of one oven. Debie, Janet and Therese share a room with the E.M.T.; Chris. While they are not busy preparing delicious meals they are squirting water guns at the campers, counselors and anyone else that my cross their path. They also enjoy doing cartwheels. Debie, Janet and Therese all have daughters that were once state officers, however, Debie is the only one who had two daughters that became state officers. This summer has been for the most part painless except for the slicing of three fingers, the splitting of one wrist and the fall, scraping and spraining of an ankle, however no one has been severely hurt. While cooking in the kitchen their favorite tune is, “Hey good looking, what ya got cookin’” by Hank Williams. All three ladies truly believe in the FFA and everything it stands for. I know I speak for everyone when I say we are very glad to have them here at FFA camp with us. Lynzi Feldbush © 2004 WILL |
